CM publishes most eligibility by grade level, not exact age. The ages below are approximate parent-friendly ranges based on the grade bands named in the district handbook.

Elementary Entry
Where families often first plug in
PTO family nights, dances, book events, game nights, community events, and in some cases junior drama for upper elementary grades.
Middle Grades

Grade 7-8 students become eligible for the Jr-Sr extracurricular policy and many modified / 7&8 sports options.
High School

Listed in handbook: Varsity baseball, modified baseball, varsity softball, JV softball, 7&8 softball, varsity and modified boys track, varsity and modified girls track, boys and girls modified and varsity lacrosse with Jordan-Elbridge.
Best first step: Register early and confirm practice / tryout timing.

Program levels explained by CM: Modified focuses on fundamentals and maximum participation, JV increases emphasis on refinement and competition, and varsity is the top competitive level. CM also notes the Athletic Placement Process for a small number of younger athletes when readiness warrants it.

School Events & Family Involvement
PTO
The CM PTO says it supports family engagement through events like movie nights, dances, bingo for books, and game nights, and it meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 3:45 p.m. in the elementary round table cafeteria, with Zoom access available.
Sports Boosters
Sports Boosters is a natural home base for families with student-athletes and is one of the easiest ways to connect with parents in the same sport circles.
